County Championship -- Megan and Eilidh Briggs progress to the Renfrewshire County Semi Finals

Defending champion Megan Briggs -- pictured on the left progressed to the semi-finals with two convincing wins over Linda McDougall (Greenock) 7/5 in the morning and Gillian McGinley (Cochrane Castle)) 6/5 in the quarter finals.

Younger sister Eilidh pictured on the right also reached the semi-finals with wins over Denise Cowan (Cochrane Castle) 5/4 followed by a 3/2 win over Beth Paterson (Eastwood).

Remaining semi-finalists are former champion Donna Jackson (Cochrane Castle) with a 5/4 win over Janette McCartney (Erskine) in the morning and a narrow 2/1 win over Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) in the afternoon.
Sara McCorkell(Williamwood) --- (nee Harman) who continued a good run of form after winning the Peggy Clark Trophy on Tuesday with wins over Julie Nicol (Elderslie) 4/2 and another former winner, Clare-Marie Carlton (Fereneze) 3/2.
Clare-Marie had in the first round played 14 year old Alyson McKechin (Elderslie). --- Playing in her first championship, Alyson put up a good fight against the experienced former champion losing narrowly 3/2 - one to watch for the future

First round - M Briggs beat L McDougall (Greenock) 7 and 5, G McGinlay (Cochrane Castle) beat P Orr (Cochrane Castle) 6 and 4, D Jackson (Cochrane Castle) beat J McCartney (Erskine) 5 and 4, C Fell (Ranfurly Castle) bt C Whyte (Windyhill) 2 and 1, E Briggs (Kilmacolm) beat D Cowan (Cochrane Castle) 5 and 4, B Paterson (Eastwood) bt L Stewart (Greenburn) 3 and 2, C-M Carlton (Fereneze) beat A McKechin (Elderslie) 3 and 2, S McCorkell (Williamwood) beat J Nicol (Elderslie) 4 and 2.

Quarter Finals - M Briggs beat McGinlay 6 and 5, Jackson beat Fell 2 and 1, E Briggs beat Paterson 3 and 2, McCorkell beat Carlton 3 and 2.
