Amy Anderson and Tiffany Lua beat Holly Clyburn and Bronte Law 2 &1
Lindy Duncan and Lisa McCloskey beat Leona McGuire and Stephanie Meadow 5&4
Tegwen Mathews quoted after the Foursomes:
"I'm afraid that wasn't quite the fast start we wanted.
"Its disappointing. There was some good golf play out there but the Americans were just that bit sharper than us around the greens.
"That's something I'm going to talk to the girls at lunch time. We need to hole a few putts and if we do that there's no reason why we cannot get back into the match.
"There's still a long way to go "
